Do you show your weird on LinkedIn?

Believe it or not, your weird is what will make the most impact in your content.

I aim for at least one weird post every other week.

I wrote a post about leaving comments.

But it wasn’t just any post.

I talked about how I have a hard time trying to type on my phone.
So I always edit my comments after I post them.

I could've just told a story, but instead, I actually typed it out as it would happen, mistakes and all. (here’s the actual post).

That made it stand out because it was weird.

Someone commented, "One of the quirkiest posts ever!"
Yep. It was. Because I'm like that.

But it was also surprisingly relatable.
Apparently, lots of people edit their comments.

I won't lie:

Posting something quirky or weird on social media for all to see is a little scary. So you don’t have to be “weird.” Just share something that makes you different from everyone else. One of my clients posted about how she thought she always had to be “professional.” Another one posted about how, as a LinkedIn specialist, she was burnt out on LinkedIn.

Each of their posts got crazy engagement (we’re talking 200-400% increase!) because they were finally being honest with their audience, and saying the thing they were hiding. But here’s the thing: people buy from people that they like, know and trust. And that trust is built on sharing stories that resonate with your audience. If you’re not sure what resonates? Take a peek at your analytics. They might tell you everything you need to know.

LinkedIn is becoming a little bland. Everyone's sharing the same tips and tricks over and over again.

Why not be the unicorn?

Want to Find Your Weird?

Find Your Weird is now part of my 1:1 4 week program, Find Your Weird.

In 4 weeks, I’ll help you:
- Find Your Weird (the thing that makes you unforgettable).
- Find stories that actually connect with your audience and make your content stand out.
- Draft posts together that you can feel confident about sharing.
- Feel supported before, during and after each time you post.
- Find a plan that works for you.

Because when you start posting like yourself (who you are in person), you build trust with your audience. And when your audience trusts you, they know, like and buy from you. Trust isn’t built overnight, but it can be built more quickly when you share stories from your lived experience. So start today.
